Our Mission

A Personal Approach

to Dog Care

My Other Home was created for dog owners looking for a more personal, loving alternative to traditional boarding facilities. Instead of large groups and busy kennels, here dogs enjoy a calm home environment where they can relax, play, and feel truly comfortable.

With hands-on animal care experience and a background working in veterinary care, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your dog. Safety, comfort, and individualized attention are always my top priorities.

My own dog, Link, is part of what makes My Other Home feel like a true home. He helps create a relaxed, friendly environment for visiting dogs and reminds me every day just how important it is that every guest here is treated with patience, kindness, and lots of love.

By keeping our group small and focusing on personalized care, I’m able to make sure each dog receives the attention they deserve and feels right at home while their owners are away.

Safety Comes First

Your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We require vaccination records, behavior information, and a meet & greet before booking. Dogs are supervised closely and cared for in a calm, secure home environment.

  • Rabies, DAPP, and Bordetella records required

  • Emergency contact information on file

  • Feeding and medication instructions carefully follwed

  • Cameras indoors and outdoors for added peace of mind

Meet the Heart Behind
My Other Home

Meet the Heart Behind

My Other Home🐾

Hi, I’m Gia, the owner of My Other Home Doggie Daycare & Boarding. Animals have been a huge part of my life and career for over 15 years. I currently work as a veterinary assistant and store manager, where I help care for pets and manage the pet food side of the business. Before that, I spent 10 years as a manager at Pet Valu, working closely with pet owners and learning about proper nutrition, care, and enrichment for dogs.

My goal with My Other Home is to create the kind of place I would want for my own dog — a calm, home-style environment where dogs receive personal attention, outdoor time, and plenty of love, instead of being in a crowded kennel setting.

Dogs staying here enjoy supervised yard time, small group play, and comfortable sleeping arrangements. Each overnight guest has their own individual sleeping room (6 ft x 4 ft), and for dogs who prefer extra comfort, a premium option is available where they can sleep in the bedroom with Link and me!

Link is the resident dog and a big part of what makes My Other Home feel like a true home. Born November 8th, 2024, he hasn’t met a dog he doesn’t like. He loves meeting new friends, spending time in the yard, and helping visiting dogs settle in. After playtime, he’s calm and relaxed, helping create a welcoming, home-like environment where guests feel comfortable and cared for during their stay.

What I love most about working with dogs is the unconditional love and trust they give so freely. My goal is simple: to make every dog that stays at My Other Home feel safe, happy, and like they’re staying at their other home. With small group sizes and close supervision, every guest receives the attention, care, and comfort they deserve.

Stories of Hope

Real Stories, Real Impact

“Gia has stayed in our home caring for our dogs for over 10 years—first Bo, now Lani. She treats them like her own, and we wouldn’t trust anyone else.”

“Gia has been coming weekly to care for Chestnut for about a year now. Chestnut is very particular about who she trusts, and she absolutely loves Gia. It’s such a relief knowing she’s in good hands.”

“We met Gia through Cascades Pet Depot after moving to the area and needing someone reliable to care for Piper and our two cats. She made the transition so easy, and we felt completely comfortable leaving our pets in her care.”
